How to Use a Zoom Room Controller (D10 Panel) for Hybrid Classes & Meetings
Follow these steps to connect your panel and avoid common issues like audio echo.
Before You Start:
Step 1: Mute Your Computer
Step 2: Find the Meeting ID
In your Zoom meeting window on your computer, click the green shield icon ("Security").
Locate the Meeting ID number in this menu.
Step 3: Join on the Panel
On the DTEN D10 panel, tap the "Join" button.
Enter the Meeting ID you found in the previous step and tap "Join".
Step 4: Avoid Echo (CRITICAL STEP)
Step 5: Make the Panel a Co-Host
On your computer: In the Zoom participants list, find the entry for the panel (e.g., "Zoom Room" or "DTEN").
Click "More" next to its name and select "Make Co-Host".
This gives the panel control of the meeting's audio and video.
Step 6: Enable Audio & Video on the Panel
On the DTEN panel's screen, tap the icons to unmute the microphone and start the video.
The camera and microphone in the room are now active. Remote participants will see the room and hear anyone speaking.
Running Your Meeting:
To Share Your Screen: Use your computer as you normally would. Click "Share Screen" in Zoom and choose your presentation or window. It will appear on the main screen and for remote attendees.
-
To Use the Whiteboard: Click "Share Screen" on your computer and choose "Whiteboard." You can draw on it from your computer or the panel.
To Monitor Chat: The chat from remote attendees will be visible on the DTEN panel's screen. You can also see it on your computer.
Troubleshooting Tip: If there is an echo, double-check that your computer's microphone and speakers are muted. The audio should only be coming from the panel.
