Ed&IS Performance Evaluation FAQ
1. How should performance evaluations be conducted for employees with multiple supervisors?
Employees with multiple supervisors should be reviewed separately by each supervisor. However, dual supervisors are encouraged to discuss the employee’s performance beforehand to ensure consistency and avoid significantly differing assessments.
2. Can an employee be considered for a STAR award without a completed performance evaluation?
No. An up-to-date performance evaluation must be on file for an employee to be considered for a STAR award.
3. What should I do if an employee’s performance rating is “Partially Meets” or “Does Not Meet Expectations”?
Any performance review with a rating of “Partially Meets” or “Does Not Meet Expectations” requires HR review before being shared with the employee. Supervisors must submit a draft of the review to their HR representative for approval.
4. Are employees rated as “Does Not Meet Expectations” eligible for cost-of-living increases?
No. Employees who receive a “Does Not Meet Expectations” rating during the review period are not eligible for any approved cost-of-living increases from Campus.
5. Should supervisors share performance reviews with their own supervisors before finalizing them?
Yes. In tiered units, supervisors are strongly encouraged to share performance reviews with their own supervisor to ensure alignment on overall ratings and written feedback.
