Fender Passport P.A. System
Setting up the P.A. System
Step: 1

This is the Fender Passport P.A. system. It resembles a small suitcase.
Step: 2
The Fender has 2 clips on each side for a total of 4 that you will need to open before you can get started.
Step: 3

To open the clips, use your fingers to press the red button on the clips.
Step: 4

Once it is open, it will look like this.
Step: 5

When the locks on both sides of the P.A. are unlocked, remove the speakers from each side of the system and set them aside.
Step 6:

On the back side of the P.A., you will see a door with a lock on the top. Use your finger to press the lock down and open the door.
Step 7:

Inside the door, you will find 2 speaker cables and the main power cable for the system. Take all of the cables out of the storage area.
Step 8:

Close the door once all of the cables are removed.
Step 9:

Insert the power cable into the port on the back of the system, then plug the other end into an outlet.
Step 10:

Insert one end of each speaker cables into the ports on the back of the system. Use one cable for each speaker. Both cables are the same so you can use either cable.
Step 11:

Insert the opposite end of the speaker cable into the port on the front bottom corner of the speaker. Use one cable for each speaker.
Wireless Microphone Setup
Step 12:

The wireless microphone system is stored in a briefcase-sized bag labeled “Shure Wireless Receiver.”
Step 13:

Open the main compartment of the bag and remove the receiver, power cable and Microphone bag.
Step 14:

This is the power cable for the Wireless microphone receiver.
Step 15:

Plug the power cable into the receiver and then plug the other end into an outlet.
Step 16:

The front of the receiver should look like this once powered on.
Step 17:

Unzip the larger front zipper section on the bag and remove 2 of the cables inside.
Step 18:

Insert the end of the microphone cable with the three openings into the back of the microphone receiver box. Do this for each cable.
Step 19:

The back of the microphone receiver should look like this when all of the cables are installed.
Step 20:

Plug the end of the microphone cable into the front of the P.A. system into either channel 1 or 2.
Step 21:

This is what the front of the system will look like once the cables are plugged in.
Step 22:

Turn on the system with the switch located on the back.
Microphone Setup and Battery Installation
Step 23:

Remove the Lav microphone/belt pack from the microphone bag.
Step 24:

Open the Lav microphone/Belt Pack and install 2 AA batteries into the pack. The batteries are located in the microphone bag.
Step 25:

Remove the Lav microphone from the microphone bag
Step 26:

Plug the connector end of the microphone cable into the battery pack. Please be careful not to force the connection and bend the pins! It will connect smoothly.
Step 27:

Turn on the battery pack with the switch located on the top of the battery pack.
Step 28:

Remove the handheld microphone from the microphone bag.
Step 29:

Unscrew the bottom of the handheld microphone to access the battery compartment.
Step 30:

Install 2 AA batteries into the handheld microphone following the installation diagram on the handle of the microphone.
Step 31:

Screw the base of the microphone back onto the microphone to cover the batteries.
Step 32:

Press and hold the power button until the green light comes on.
Getting Sound
Step: 33

Turn up the volume on the channel that the wireless microphone that you are using is on. Either the handheld or the lav microphone. You will see the yellow channel light blink when the system receives a signal from the microphone.
** Do not turn the volume knob all of the way up.**
Step: 34

Once you have the channel volume set to a modest level you can increase the master volume to increase the volume further.
** Do Not turn the master up all of the way. You can turn up the channel volume later if you need to.**
